Your pain carries wisdom. So do you.

Elisheva Eliach LMSW. Integrative, depth- oriented psychotherapy for women and couples in Brooklyn and online.

A longstanding curiosity about what makes us who we are.

Long before I became a therapist, I was fascinated by individual differences: why the same environment can affect two people so differently, how temperament interacts with experience, family, and culture, and what gets lost when we understand people primarily through the ways they struggle.

I became particularly interested in the places where struggle and strength are intertwined—how a quality that creates difficulty in one context may carry sensitivity, creativity, perception, intensity, or another capacity in another.

My study of Jewish mysticism and Chassidic thought gave me another language for this curiosity: the possibility that rupture can be in service of repair, that concealment can hold the possibility of revelation, and that what appears broken may contain possibilities we might otherwise miss.

My understanding of these ideas has also been shaped by lived experience. Motherhood has deepened my curiosity about development, attachment, and the complexity of human relationships, while nearly two decades of yoga, meditation, and embodied practice have given me an experiential appreciation for the relationship between mind and body. These experiences continue to inform the way I understand people and the work I do.

I also explore these questions in my writing at Into the Depths, a Substack.

An enduring commitment to growth and transformation

My work helping people understand themselves, navigate challenges, and create meaningful change began long before I entered clinical practice. Since 2014, I've worked with hundreds of families through psychoeducational programs, courses, individual consultations with parents, and collaborative work with schools. I've also taught and spoken at conferences across the United States and Canada, including a guest lecture at the University of Pennsylvania's Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) program. This longstanding engagement with human development, relationships, and transformation continues to inform the depth and perspective I bring to psychotherapy today.

Ongoing Clinical Development

I practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under the clinical supervision of Dr. Aviva Gitlin, PsyD, with additional focus on couples dynamics, relationships, and sexuality.

Alongside my clinical practice, I continue to pursue intensive postgraduate study and training across trauma, relationships, somatic psychotherapy, parts work, and depth-oriented approaches.

My training has included study with leading clinicians and teachers including Richard Schwartz, PhD; Frank Anderson, MD; Janina Fisher, PhD; Laurel Parnell, PhD; Peter Levine, PhD; and Pat Ogden, PhD.

“Elisheva is an extremely gifted therapist. She is quickly able to engage her clients in the conversation they really need to be having. She is able to see the large picture very quickly, and then isolate the small pieces that require focus and work. She works well to help her clients grow and heal.”
